Programme overview

Managers are often the first point of contact when a workplace issue arises, whether it involves performance, behaviour, conflict or an employee concern. Having a basic understanding of HR responsibilities helps them respond fairly, consistently and with confidence. Knowing how to approach a difficult conversation, follow the appropriate procedures and recognise when to seek HR support can prevent a manageable issue from escalating into a more serious problem.

This practical programme gives managers the knowledge and tools to handle these situations effectively. Covering essential employment law, performance management, workplace conflict and employee engagement, it helps participants address concerns early, make informed decisions and support their teams while reducing risk to the organisation.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the training programme, participants will:

  • Understand key employment rights and their responsibilities as a manager.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide constructive feedback.
