Leading with Emotional Intelligence is an engaging and interactive workshop where you will explore your Emotional Intelligence to develop and enhance your leadership effectiveness.

Understanding how emotions shape your thoughts and actions is the first step to gaining greater control over your behavior. Developing the skills to manage yourself and other people more effectively maximizes your influence as a leader.

This programme introduce participants to the key components of EI, through the use of experiential exercises and workshop discussions, participants will explore how refining certain characteristics or actions can increase their success and confidence in leading and influencing others.

Modules

1. The Link Between EI and Leadership Performance – Setting the Context

This module explores the strong connection between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and effective leadership.

Understand how leaders with high EI can significantly enhance team performance, engagement, and overall organisational success.

We’ll discuss real-world examples and research demonstrating EI’s impact on leadership effectiveness, providing a solid foundation for the session ahead.

2. The Journey to Enhanced Emotional Intelligence (Developing Self-awareness)

Self-awareness is the cornerstone of Emotional Intelligence. In this module, you will embark on a journey to understand your emotions, strengths, and areas for improvement.

Through interactive exercises, you’ll gain insights into how self-awareness influences your leadership style, decision-making, and relationships, setting the stage for personal growth and improved leadership impact.

3. Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence Model

In this section, we examine the Emotional Intelligence model developed by Daniel Goleman. We break down the five key components: Self-Awareness, Self-Regulation, Motivation, Empathy and Social Skills.

Learn how each element plays a crucial role in leadership and how developing these areas can enhance your ability to lead effectively.

4. Psychological Safety – How the Emotionally Intelligent Leader Builds Trust in Teams

Explore the concept of psychological safety and how emotionally intelligent leaders create an environment where team members feel safe, valued, and empowered to speak up.

Discover strategies to build trust, encourage open communication, and foster a culture where creativity and innovation thrive.

This module highlights the role of empathy and understanding in building high-performing teams.

5. Leader’s EI Toolkit – A Range of Tools to Help Leaders Expand Their EI

This practical element equips you with a comprehensive toolkit to develop and apply Emotional Intelligence in your leadership role.

You will use practical exercises/tools for self-regulation and managing emotions, you’ll gain a variety of tools to enhance your EI and drive better results in your interactions with others.

6. Using EI to Manage Conflict

Conflict is inevitable in any team or organisation, but how it’s managed can make all the difference. In this module, you’ll learn how to use Emotional Intelligence to navigate and resolve conflicts effectively.

Explore techniques for recognising emotional triggers, understanding others’ perspectives, and turning conflicts into opportunities for growth and stronger relationships.

7. Using EI to Influence Others

Effective leaders influence and inspire others, not just through authority but through understanding and connection.
